MEPC 61 Regulatory News Update

The December News Update provides further details on the 61st Session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee as was briefly reported preliminary in October. The proposed new MARPOL Annex VI regulations on GHG to be considered at MEPC 62 in July are included together with revised regulations for prevention of pollution by garbage and an extension of the USA/Canada Emission Control Area. Information on the nine new ballast water treatment systems that received approval conclude the Update.
